Master's of Arts
I am a health psychology graduate student working with Dr. Jan Wallander and Dr. Anna Song. I received my M.A. in General-Experimental Psychology at CSU-Northridge where my thesis focused on the link between sexual risk and non-suicidal self injury among Latinas. My general research interests are in health-risk behaviors among adolescents and young adults, particularly among the Latino population. More recently, I have begun to examine the role that social relationships have on health-risk behaviors across development. For example, I am currently conducting an investigation on the longitudinal changes of social influences across ethnic groups among various levels of social constructs (i.e., intrapersonal, family, peer, & community). A second line of research I have begun to engage in examines the Hispanic Paradox within general well-being and quality of life among Latino children.
