Anatomy of Measurement, A YouTube Animation Series

Anatomy of Measurement is a National Council on Measurement in Education (NCME) Mission Fund Project.

The Anatomy of Measurement project is a series of YouTube animations that are created to promote measurement literacy among various audiences, including educators, parents, students, researchers, psychologists, individuals taking professional or licensure tests, policy makers, and the general public.

The current collection of videos under the Anatomy of Measurement initiative consists of four installments. These videos address topics such as the definition of educational measurement, explain fundamental concepts like reliability, validity, and fairness, and explore the development and scoring of standardized tests.

They can also be accessed on YouTube and through the cover page of the Instructional Topics in Educational Measurement Series (ITEMS) portal, hosted by the NCME website at https://www.ncme.org/itemsportal. This project was honored with the SIPS Commendation Award bestowed by the Society for Improving Psychological Science.
