H. Tomas Rube Assistant Professor, Department of Applied Mathematics Starting July 2022, H. Tomas Rube is an assistant professor in Applied Mathematics at University of California, Merced. With an undergraduate degree in engineering physics and a PhD in theoretical physics, Tomas’ research lies at the interface of applied mathematics, physics and biology.

Graduate students: We are looking PhD students to join our group. If you have background in mathematics, statistics, biology, computer science, or physics, is interested in our research, and is excited by a collaborative and interdisciplinary environment, please contact us!
Undergraduate students: students are are highly encouraged to get engaged in research in big and small ways. If you are interested in ways to contribute to our research, please let us know! Students are also encouraged to attend seminars, including the Applied Math, Quantitative and Systems Biology, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, and Bioengineering seminars. Additionally, the Mathematical Biology SMaRT team has student oriented seminars at 11am on most Wednesdays during the semesters.
