Received an internal award from UC Merced’s Committee on Research. The COR award will provide seed money to explore intestinal inflammation regulation by Toxoplasma.
It was a great 3 years with Ferdinand, who discovered fundamental things for the Jensen lab about the GPI anchor that will be published in years to come! Good luck with your growing family in the UK!
Excited to share that we recently received an R21 (R21AI176186) from the NIH to explore novel concepts in mRNA vaccines for Toxoplasma gondii. This is in collaboration with Lawrence Livermore National Laboratories (LLNL) nanoparticle vaccine group headed by Dr. Nick Fischer and Dr. Amy Rasley.
Essey is interested in pursuing a career in biological engineering or molecular biology. Essey enjoys all things science, loves manipulating DNA and generated engineered parasite strains! He is now an undergraduate student at Yale!
