Gave a talk at the 13th International Congress on Toxoplasmosis & T. gondii Biology, in Gettysburg PA. What a great conference and smart collection of scientists.

Received an internal award from UC Merced’s Committee on Research. The COR award will provide seed money to explore intestinal inflammation regulation by Toxoplasma.

My first day as an Assistant Professor at UC Merced. I am in the Molecular Biology Unit within the School of Natural Sciences.

Excited to share that we recently received an R21 (R21AI176186) from the NIH to explore novel concepts in mRNA vaccines for Toxoplasma gondii. This is in collaboration with Lawrence Livermore National Laboratories (LLNL) nanoparticle vaccine group headed by Dr. Nick Fischer and Dr. Amy Rasley.

Scott Souza successfully defended his Ph.D. He is largely responsible for our lab's current interogation into B cell responses, which required him to explore new models in the lab. We are very proud of all he has accomplished! His publication on his thesis work will be forthcomming.
