Danielle Jones

PhD Student

I received my B.S. in Chemistry from UCLA and my M.S. in Watershed Management from Humboldt State University, where I worked on pollutant removal in the famous Arcata Marsh, one of the first constructed treatment wetland systems in the US. My interest lies in water contamination and treatment. My current project is looking at mercury cycling in constructed wildlife habitat wetlands in California’s Central Valley. As part of my research I plan to incorporate new ecotechnologies for pollution control, such as metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), into my research. I am co-advised by Dr. Peggy O’Day in the School of Natural Sciences and Dr. Marc Beutel in the School of Engineering. After graduation, my goal is to enter academia and teach while pursuing research.
