Current Projects

Belize Cave Research Project (BCRP) 2011-current, principle investigator

This is an ongoing project to investigate ancient Maya ritual cave sites in Belize on a regional scale. It seeks to understand changes in ritual practices over time and articulate those changes with socio/political processes and environmental stresses.

Las Cuevas Archaeological Reconnaissance (LCAR) 2011-current, principle investigator

This ongoing project investigates the site of Las Cuevas, a Late Classic Maya pilgrimage site located in the Chiquibul Forest Reserve in western Belize

Chiquibul Archaeological Reconnaissance and Survey Team (Carst) 2017-current

Partnering with the Friends for Conservation and Development (FCD), an NGO that manages the Chiquibul Forest Preserve, we offer training in mapping and survey techniques to interested Belizeans. In collaboration with FCD rangers the project locates and records archaeological sites within the reserve.
