Welcome
I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Applied Mathematics at the University of California, Merced. Prior to joining UC Merced, I worked at the University of Northern British Columbia (2018-2023) and was a postdoc at McGill University (2014-2018) working with Jean-Christophe Nave and Gantumur Tsogtgerel.
I received my Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics (2010-2014) at Polytechnique Montréal, under Marc Laforest and Frédéric Sirois.
I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of British Columbia, and Masters studies under George Bluman.
My research interests are in numerical analysis, scientific computing and more recently scientific machine learning. I am interested in structure-preserving numerical methods, such as conservative discretizations which preserve geometric invariants of dynamical systems, as well as their applications in the mathematical sciences.
I am also interested at the interplay between structure-preservation and data-driven/machine learning methods for solving scientific computing problems.
Currently, I am a part of a PIMS Collaborative Research Group (2024-2027) on Structure-Preserving Discretizations and their Applications, where we focus on developing structure-preserving discretizations and machine learning methods, as well as their applications.
