Dr. Katherine Hegewisch is a project scientist in the Sierra Nevada Research Institute at the University of California Merced. She earned a Ph.D. in Physics from Washington State University in 2010 and also has degrees in Applied Mathematics and Statistics. Since 2011, she has been working with climatologist Dr. John Abatzoglou in the Applied Climate Science Lab as a climate data analyst, a climate data provider and a web developer of visualization tools for both climate and remote sensing datasets. She is a lead web developer on both ClimateToolbox.org and ClimateEngine.org.
