Overview

The Resilience Research Group is an interdisciplinary research-focused collaboration between academics interested in understanding the role of resilience in student success. This group rejects definitions of resilience as an individual trait or about mere capitulation to institutional assimilation. Instead, we envision resilience as meeting at the intersection between self-efficacy and community cultural wealth. As such, it is forged in relationships and depends on the practice of critical empathy.

We meet on the first Monday of the month to share research and develop collaborative projects. Please contact Dr. Eileen Camfield, if you would like to join: ecamfield@ucmerced.edu
