Isabella holds dual-credentials in secondary English and Social Science. She taught Humanities courses to seniors and sophomores for four years in Southeast Los Angeles before relocating to the borderlands, where she currently teaches English 1 and 4. Isabella works to design pedagogical strategies that foster a classroom community that honors the lived experiences of diverse learners.
She is passionate about and currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Education at UTEP in interdisciplinary pedagogy, project-based learning, social-emotional learning for high schoolers, and counteracting the culture of fear that often pervades high schools, harming teachers and students alike.
