Taylor Fugere

Doctoral Student, Management of Complex Systems (MIST) at UCM

Taylor’s research interests include Innovation Theory and Practice, Organizational Behavior, Workplace Power Dynamics, Diversity, Women in Technology, Paradox Theory, Gender. She is pursuing a PhD in Management of Complex Systems (MIST), Expected May 2024 – University of
California, Merced; holds a MM in Management, Innovation, Sustainability and Technology, August 2019 – University of California, Merced and a BA in Political Science and Social Work, May 2015 – University of California, Berkeley. She is particularly interested in mechanisms of empowerment and belonging for historically underrepresented groups in STEM fields, particularly women and children of color. I think that social and interpersonal wellness is a key aspect of health and several variables I work with, such as self-efficacy and autonomy, are essential to the health sciences and are key determinants of health. I intend my dissertation to look at inclusion and empowering practices over the STEM pipeline (youth programs to university major choice, to professional contexts).
