Sameen Yunus

Sameen is interested in studying the properties of matter under extreme conditions. At high enough pressures and/or temperatures, the physics of matter changes and enters a new regime known as High Energy Density Physics. Such conditions occur at the centers of gas giant planets, white dwarf stars, super novae eruptions, and many other astrophysical and laboratory applications. Her current work involves developing a quantum mechanical model to study the behavior of electrons and their correlations in the Warm Dense Matter regime.
