Zoe Griffith

I am a 5th year PhD student in the Health Psychology program. I received my BA in psychology with honors from Cal Poly Humboldt University in 2019. My research focuses on extending traditional social cognition models to include dispositional traits associated with a variety of health behaviors (e.g., vaccination, dietary behaviors, COVID-19 prevention). My research has investigated political beliefs (e.g., political ideology, trust in government, populism) as determinants of health behaviors. When not conducting research, I’ve taught Social Psychology, co-advised undergraduate honors students and peer mentored first year graduate students. While at UC Merced, I have received a certificate of Quantitative Methods, the Distinguished Graduate Speaker Award, and a Research Disseminate award. In my free time I enjoy strength training, yoga and watching horror movies.
